Onajite Regha is the Chief Executive Officer and Secretary of the non-profit E-Payment Providers Association of Nigeria (E-PPAN), which actively engages with the banking industry and digital payment stakeholders to ensure that Nigerian consumers and businesses benefit from access to world class payments. She has been its Executive Secretary/Chief Executive Officer since the organization’s inception with her work involving advocacy, research, strategy, stakeholders’ facilitation, and articulation of initiatives that educate and connect people in the payments ecosystem.
As part of her role in promoting e-payment, Onajite serves in committees of the Economic Communities of West African States (ECOWAS), the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), the Nigeria Electronic Fraud Forum (NeFF) and the Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NEGS).
A go-to person in Payment Systems in Nigeria, Onajite supports missions to Nigeria and has supported organisations such as DFID, IFC, Bill and Melinda Gates, and recently the GLACY/+ EU project on criminal justice in Nigeria. An astute speaker and writer, she contributes to several publications, authored policy briefs and whitepapers focused on financial inclusion, digital banking and the advancement of Africa’s fintech sector. She speaks at a lot of local and international seminars and workshops.
Onajite has been honored with various awards and industry recognitions including the PSR Woman of Merit Gold Award for her contributions to the development and growth of digital electronic payment in Nigeria. She was recognized as one of the 20 African women in financial service technology by the Financial Technology Magazine. The Guardian Newspapers listed her as one of the pillars of financial technology service providers in Nigeria.
